    Hi,
I never went there but because this is is where I am from, the easiest way for you is to fly out to Nantes with Ryanair. There are 4 flights a week and Nantes is only 40 kms from Clisson, the city in which the festival is held. Once you are in Nantes, you can either go by Train or even rent a car at the airport if you are there with Friends (not sure if it is more expensive if you are 3 or).
Some names for the 2010 edition have already been posted by the way:

    Hope this helps !

    Went by Ryanair as well.

When me and my mates got to Nantes last year, there was a few minibuses (with Hellfest stickers on their windows) outside the door of the airport waiting to bring people to the venue. Seven people per taxi, I think. The person in charge spoke english. Worked out at four of five euro each, I think.

Getting back to the airport from the venue, you can get a train from Clisson, and get an airport bus from the train station, to the airport. Ensure you look up WHERE THE F**KING BUS STOPS, as a few of the lads found out that "next to the train station" actually meant "the other side of the train station, and keep running for 5 minutes" :D

    =-=

As for camping, when I was there, you wake up @ 8:30am from the heat, and at 9am, you are out of the tent, gasping for air. Oh, and bring loo-roll. Sure, there's some provided, and you can buy some in the shop, but for the first night, you may find it usefull.

Don't flush the loo's at the festival, unless they were just cleaned. The smell is vile. Don't camp within 5 minutes walk of the loo's, in case the wind is blowing the wrong direction :D:( After you set up your tent, goto the shower area, and get a bracelet. This gives you access to the area where the showers and hand basins are: usefull after you take a dump.

When going shopping, bring a trolley from a campsite, as there'll be none at the shopping centre.

The main supermarket closes on Sunday, as does pretty much everything else. It's located about 15 minutes walk from the venue (although the venue is meant to be in a slightly different area this time). It's f**king huge! They dislike skimply clad women, and/or topless guys, becuase, well, they're french :P They'll take your bag (to prevent shop-lifting), give you a tag, and you can collect it on your way out.

If you drink cider, it's pronounced "cid-ra" and look in the wine section for it. If memory serves me correct, and if they don't change it around, it'll be the 2nd last aisle to the left, and the cidre will be in the shelves closest to the freezers. The stuff taste like strongbow.

You can buy tubbwear things, as well as knives, forks, and other stuff there. The bread section is nice and big, it being France and all :D There's also a nice bakery in the village on the way to the tabacco shop.

If you smoke, you can only buy cigarettes and smoking tabacco in the tabacco shop in the village. I'd advise you to get that before you start shopping (I, on the other hand, only found this out after buying stuff). Forget if this closes on Sunday.

You can buy a 2-to-3 prong adapter in the supermarket for f**k all. There are meant to be charger points at McDonalds (located next to the Supermarket), so have a meal, charge your phone :D There was also sockets in some of the shower units (for electric shavers, but with the 2-to-3 prong, you can use them).

There's also a Lidl, or an Aldi across from the supermarket.

    =-=

Anything more, ask, and I'll answer.

Only went 2009, so don't know. The cider at the bars in the festival area ran out on Friday night :( There were a few toilet sections in the fenced off festival area, but there was only one row of 30 or 40 toilets for the camp site part. And christ they stank bad. It was sunny for the duration (light rain before the sun came up each morning), so that helped. Seems it rained the previous year, which may have made the event different. Thought it was run fairly well myself, but it's the first major outdoor concert I've been to.

There was major food area inside the main festival area, and a smaller one next to the tent area.

If you can, get there real early, otherwise you'll be in a **** place. Like, Thursday evening early. A few lads went the day before us, and kept a patch for us, so we were lucky, as otherwise you'd be in the field far away from the loo's and shower area.

Tickets will be "cheaper" untill November 30th. Think 20% off, or something.
