Was in Powers earlier and they have Ireland at 11/4 which I thought was a bit big so had a small bet on them even though the draw is probably the result.

Backed Ireland at 5/2 with Paddy Power a few days ago.

A bit of a heart vs head bet I think.

Under 2.5 goals looks safe enough here, can't see either team scoring 2 goals.

Yeah I agree the under 2.5 goals looks like the bet to make. 8/13 seems to be the best odds at the moment:

Italy guarantee top spot with a draw.
Ireland more or less guarantee 2nd with a draw.

Ireland very rarely lose at home and dont beat the big teams either.

I'll be backing the draw at 2/1 and also no goalscorer at 13/2 with skybet.

Much as I'd love to see that happen I would never put money on it.

Have you ever seen Ireland play before? :)

Just expect us to take it to them from the start. We have absolutely nothing to lose. I've watched a lot of Italian football lately and their domestic teams have been performing not so good in their own league. They are lazy, slow and unable to perform together. I expect Ireland to ruffle a few feathers early on and actually take a 2-0 lead into half-time and secure the 3-0 victory late on. Wishful thinking perhaps but in this case I wouldnt listen to a word my manager said I'd have it agreed with my fellow players that we take the game to the opposition and pile the pressure on early doors, they ain't coming to Dublin for a walk in the park. If all are players perform to their best we'll hammer Italy, they'll get the shock of their life. They are not a fast team, only decent outfield player they have is Grosso.

We do have something to lose, if we lose to Italy we need to win against Montenegro, whereas if we draw with Italy we only need a draw with Montenegro! Trap will take the cautious approach!

Well I'm afraid I'm on the total opposite side to you whereby I think we can qualify outright if we beat Italy. Italy needed a last gasp winner against Cyprus, Italy are a poorer team now than they were back then. Ireland, Bulgaria & Montenegro all found it difficult to overcome Cyprus with home advantage, Italy will be no different. We have absolutely nothing to lose by taking the game to Italy and ensuring that we gain a victory. The risk-reward is huge, beat Italy and potentially be on the way to the World Cup next Wednesday night, or take the cautious route make the play-offs, sit like spa's waiting for the draw when Germany, Russia, France could be pulled out. That doesn't sound very enticing.

c'mon. Italy need one point to qualify. We have a tough game against montenegro on the wednesday. 0-0 bore draw. 7.4 on betfair.
