Specifically 'Sound Proof' as in block sound from entering or leaving the space ?

Is the garage connected to the house ?

    For what use ?

You can forget sound proofing in terms of transmission from inside to outside if you want to keep the door the way it is. It's going to be freezing in there with that door too, I reckon.

Your best bet is to get some rugs for the floor and try and get some soft furniture in there, sofa's and the like, try and break up the walls so there are fewer parallel surfaces. And maybe try and aquire a few office dividers or the like. If you don't freeze to death in there this winter maybe then you could look at building some acoustic treatments.

The bad news is that there is no such thing as cheap sound proofing. There are inexpensive ways to make a room sound better on the inside and ways to reduce a bit of the noise going in or out of the garage, but to really soundproof you can expect to be paying tens of thousands of Euros minimum.

    No !

    Detached is good though.

What sort of general stuff ? Drums ? Rehearsing with a band ? Guitar or bass amps ....

    Give us hint !

    Right.

That tells us how loud it will be - i.e. Quite.

Without seeing it its hard to be sure but .....

I'd guess that it's going to be extremely tough and unless you have factors like distance from the house or neighbours on your side it will be very difficult to make work.

The up and over will definitely not be part of any possible solution.

there is a metre laneway between the house and garage and the doorway is at the end of that laneway, there is a window on the orther side about halfway down, the size is about 8 X 5 meters with a 45 degree pitch tiled roof, and the nearest neighbours is 250 mtrs away so they wont be any trouble

    Cool with the neighbours !

The problem is that unless you know how big the nail is you don't know how big a hammer to use.

You could easily spend a few grand and have virtually no result, especially down the low end.

If you want to send me a few photos tomorrow I'll have a look and maybe pass them on to a man who will know.
