Reverse speech

Any of you lot had a look at reverse speech and its apparent methods of catching out the 'bad guys'? I've come across a website that spends quite a bit of time taking audios from well know (mostly US) politicians and playing it backwards and thus finding what their sub-conscience is saying. According to this fella many bad things are on the way and the most interesting one, although to be fair most are worth at least a read, is the faked Apollo moon landings in the 60's. Here's a link if anyone wants a look. http://www.ken-welch.com/
Mods, if this is breaking any rules please delete, no harm meant!
Personally speaking I couldn't figure out the one's on stairway to heaven never mind this, but somewhat interesting anyway.

So for Larry Silversteins now infamous "pull it" remark, the reversed speech has him say "So Whitney saw em shoot it"

And you believe this to be actual proof? First off, 'pull it' was clutching at straws trying to connect that quote to a conspiracy. But it is a hell of a lot closer to being a conspiracy than somebody called Whitney claiming that someone 'shot' the building.

Reversed speech is not proof of anything. You cannot uncover conspiracies by playing normal sentences backwards, and trying to make sense of the jumbled mess and somehow connect it to a conspiracy. This is just the work of someone seriously clutching at straws

I'd tend to agree with you on all points although it still makes an interesting read!

You can find seemingly meaningful patterns in any random noise.

What is the idea behind reverse speech? Are the reverse messages hidden there deliberately or is it an accidental effect?

I think it's that you subconsciously speak in a way that if recorded and reversed it'll show how you really feel or think. So it's accidental in the way that you don't realise you're doing it, but it's deliberate in the way that your subconsious hates you and wants everyone to know what you're thinking.

Its nice my subconscious has such a low opinion of me.

If you read this sentence out loud then play it back you'll hear "what a crock of sh*te."

If my subconscious is smart enough to work all this as I'm talking how come it let me wear odd shoes into work, twice?

Yeah, I always thought me and my subconscious got on real well. Little did I know.

This has come up before and I did some reverse investigations on our boardscasts and found some interesting results.

People don't think backwards and niether do their respective consciouses. You get a better idea of what people are saying if you listen to them going "forwards". Also, I think advertisers would be playing stuff backwards if it could sell something. They don't so it's very likely that playing stuff backwards has no effect. The fact that you have to decipher it first (backwards to forwards) gives me the impression that we're only affected by what we hear "forwards". I'm a tad drunk so i'll get out of here. There's a bar or a lounge around these parts, isn't there?

    /me is off to BGARHL

I agree, we are not even consciously aware that are subconscious reveals exactly how we feel ALL THE TIME, whether it be the way you move your body langauge, breathing patters, tone of voice and the very thought processes that make whatever you say consciously. But when you open your mouth, Your body moves. Reverse speech does work, but it's not something I would use literally as a way of trying to determine the motives of what a person is really saying. It is something to check out and there has been many good results with this.

I personally love the Queen memorial Speech on Diana during her death. The reverse speech more sense then her forward speech. It's on youtube. It's pretty good I have to say.
