Battle Of The Axe-Any good?

    I'm totally new to this open mic night thing, but i wana try playing for some people...anyone been to this Battle of The Axe thing? Heres the link http://www.battleoftheaxe.com/

    Good place to start? Any tips?

    I started my illustrious career at the battle of the axe. It's a good place to start, as the crowd is usually supportive.

    Bear in mind it's 75% comedians - if you have songs with a sense of humour, they usually go down well. Try to stay away from any morose stuff and you'll be fine.

    Other good nights are the Song Room in the Globe (think it's wednesdays), and downstairs in the International (again think it's mondays).
