Brewing with beer kits, Secondary fermentation?

Is there any point in secondary fermentation when just brewing with a beer kit with no added ingredients, except spraymalt?

I just bottled my first brew from a beer kit today but I think it may have picked up a contamination somewhere in secondary fermentation. Is there any point in me doing secondary fermentation in future if im only using a beer kit?

    thanks.

Some say yes; some say no. Whether it's a kit or not makes no difference. The main benefit is you get cleaner, clearer beer. If this isn't especially important to you, don't bother.
