    Anyone tried any of them?
I downloaded Robotvision yesterday and it's terrible! There's literally nothing around me and the local search doesn't work at all :(
Yelp! won't work in Ireland either...I'm just looking for one that'll work in Dublin :)

    Any suggestions anyone?

Think theres one called Car Locator. You Geo-tag your acr and then hold up your camera and it should show where your car is.Haven't tried it meself so can't say if it works well but it should work in Ireland.

    NearestPlaces.

Everyone. Get it! Just got it there and wow it's brilliant! It's locational results are based on Google Maps so it works everywhere. I searched for cinemas and got a load of results around me and it has a really nice interface for scrolling through the results.

This AR app is getting great reviews, have just updated to 3.1.2 in order to try this (and other AR app's) so will post back when had a chance to try it.
    Anyone else tried it?

you don't need 3.1.2 to specifically run AR apps i'm on 3.1 (7C144) firmware and layar runs perfectly for me on this.

    Cheers.
    I was on 3.0 and upped it to 3.1.2, I skipped 3.1.
The AR stuff seems to require at least 3.1 but that sorted now, thanks.
What do you think of the app??

it's great, it's a little buggy but this is pretty much brand new field of tech so there's bound to be bugs.

here's an example of daft.ie's layar in action for anyone who hasn't seen it.

layar also has layars for searching for near by shops and services. also one for the nearest dart station.

i have an idea for a layar that might be useful for dublin people that i might look into doing in my spare time.

    Your pic didn't come out?
yeap, brand new tech which I reckon will be big for the future. Have downed Layar, Yelp and the other two mentioned above, see how they go :)

If anyone is interested I made some Irish Layars.

One of Dublin Bikes stations http://m.layar.com/open/dublinbikes2go and the other of Dublin Bus stops http://m.layar.com/open/dublinbus2go

Those links will open Layar from the android browser
