Ryanair name changes on return flights

Hey folks,

Booking a trip for about 30 people to Spain for next March. They'll all be on return tickets, but just in case anyone drops out and we need to get a name change - does anyone know if you just have to pay €100 once, or twice (as in on both legs of the ticket)?

The same question would apply to Aer Lingus if anyone were to know that.

It's hard to find out for sure. Maybe you will have to call them. More than likely if a return journey was booked the €100 would do.

Ryanair don't do return flights. It might be a return flight in your head, but in Ryanair's system it is two one-way flights. Ergo, you pay twice to change a name.

I know they don't do return flights but it doesn't say that you have to pay €100 for each leg of the journey on the website.
It's hard to get clarification from the info that they are giving.

If every ticket is for a single trip, the notion of legs of a journey does not apply.

Just noticed on that page linked above:

"Name changes are not possible if any flight sector in the booking has been flown."

I can't think of any other definition of a "flight sector" other than the first leg of a return flight, therefore I'm assuming you only have to pay once.

As long as you've booked the flight over and back at the same time under the one confirmation number you will only pay €100 for a name change.

Bear in mind that is quite often cheaper to just book an entirely new flight than paying the ripoff €100 charge.

i agree ther was a thing on the radio a while back and its cheaper to just forget about the original ticket and just get a new one especially with ryan air

just to protect yourself tell everyone that you need the flight money up front that way if they decide to drop out you are not left with the ticket;)

But we still haven't determined for sure is it €100 for each flight or €100 for the return journey? I wouldn't mind finding out for sure myself.

finbarrk, I'm telling you for sure that it's per confirmation number so as long as you've booked a 'return' flight with one confirmation number then it's a €100 for the return journey!
