After 31 days off the cigs , for the first time this evening after my dinner I have not had a craving. I think I have beaten the dreaded weed.

For any smokers out there , it can be done.

    Well done OP.

I'd love to quit smoking but I find having a cigarette with a nice ice cold beer way too appealing...that slightly high feeling you get after you take your first drag of the cigarette....n i c e.

Well done! Are you doing it cold turkey or Alan Carr or patchs or wet dog or dry crisps or fish fingers (if you're brave enough)?

What brought you to give them up?

Why and when did you start?

    Cigarettes have finally killed me.
    Like they killed my father,
    my father's father,
    my mother's father, my mother,
    and her father.

I just can't seem to give
the damn things up. I love them!
    Sweet smoky cigarettes.
    You delicious bastards!

Thanks but I prefer to stay away from groups. Especially quitters , they just go on and on and on and on . Most fail too.

Mods feel free to close or move , I just felt like sharing.

    Well done!

It can be easy to relapse and smoke again even a year down the line.

Patches for a few days , nicotine gum for a few more , then just will power.

I gave them up when looked at my little girl and realised that I don't want her to be a smoker, plus I want to spend as long as I can with her.

I'm gonna cancel out that couple of hours of tennis I just played with a nice cig!

Fair play OP, I managed a 7 month stint off them, but am currently trying to quit again (it's been 2 days, feeling pretty good). The main thing is to never have one ever again. Never think that it'll be ok to have just one, there's no such thing I'm afraid. Hope that doesn't burst your bubble. Well done man!

    Bloody Quitters..

    No stamina at all..

Isn't there a non smoking type forum?
    Agreed..
As a smoker I feel discriminated against that the topic of quitting is discussed so openly in blatantly the wrong forum..

In fact. I might take this to feedback..
    FIGHT THE POWAH!11!2!!.

Anyway everybody knows that smoking is cool.

I wish I could kick someone in a habit too.

Ciggs are mank I really notice how bad they are when I've weed and have to smoke a normal cigarette at work. Can't give them up though, you may think you've given them up OP but you never really quit they'll get you again. It may take two years but they'll get you.

    Well done OP.

Myself and hubby quit 8 months ago when we found out we were expecting a baby and its the best decision either of us have ever made. Its hard no doubt about it, the craving for a cig sometimes nearly overwhelms me but its the best feeling ever

    Keep up the good work
