I was just wondering if there was a way to email a mobile phone directly?

I remember years ago emailing / texting someone on Meteor from my old Hotmail account by emailing something like: 0851234567@sms.meteor.ie

Can this still be done? Does O2 have a email adresses for each sim card?

It would seem the answer would be yes as you can use O2 Webtext (essentialy email in all but name) and that goes direct to mobiles right?

    I'm wrong amn't I .. :)

sms.mymeteor.ie is gone but mms.mymeteor.ie lives on

mms.mymeteor.ie will also accept certain attachments (images up to 30 or 300kb depending on what the phone supports, mp3's, midi's of the same size and possibly others)

i don't know if any other network has a similar service

O2 webtext has nothing to do with email i don't think..

I remember in work we used to txt the reps using 0871234567@go2mobile.ie or something similar.
Although I think there has to be an account sent up with go2mobile.
