    Folks,
What would be the considered the best oil for using on your bike chain. Is 3 and one alright to use?

3 in 1 is fine in an emergency (you can use olive oil if you are really stuck) but is certainly not optimal. In this country, I tend to go for Finish Line Cross Country Wet Lube.

I've been using White Lightning for the last few months, and it's very satisfactory. It's one of the wet formulae, in a blue bottle, but I can't remember which one.

Finish line dry lube. Fully degrease everything (chain and all sprockets and derailleurs). Use a chain cleaner tool. Then lube every link and joint on the chain. Leave to work in. Then wipe the chain with a rag to remove excess. That way you get minimum grit and chain noise. Don't let the chain and gear set get black.

    I use http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1041

Doesnt take much to lube the chain so it works out pretty cheap.
