Laptop blackout!

    Can anyone help me - i was on my laptop the other night and the screen started flickering between white and black then stayed black!

    i know the power is on - but you cant see anything on the screen at all!

    Is there any way to fix it without paying a fortune or can i do it myself?

    Try it on an external monitor,A new TV might work if you don't have a PC,Plug it in and boot up the laptop,Check if it works,If it does then the issue is eomething wrong with the lcd screen and not the onboard graphics,It could be a loose cable going to the LCD screen of it could be that the lcd screen has died

    If it's HP, you can try unplugging the laptop from the mains and removing the battery. Then hold the power button for 10 - 30 seconds. This will drain out any residual power. Then plug the laptop back in and give it a go. :D
