If offered a contract or a permenant position

I know I am being a bit hopeful but I expect to hear back about two potential jobs, one is a daily rate contract position and the other a permanent position. The permanent one is quite a distance which will take me a I reckon 2/3 hours travel daily. The contract is about 1/1.5 hour travel daily and also pays about a years salary for just 6 months. I have worked contract before so I know the costs and benefits of such work. I am not sure which I would take if offered both.

The real unknown is how things would be in 6 months and is it worth the risk or should I take the safety of a permanent position?

Honestly "permanent" means f**k all these days.

Take the contract and the higher wages.
