Anyone know of a place in Ireland that can repair laptop power jacks i.e. the socket you plug the cord into? I'm talking about a Dell Latitude D620. I believe it is a complex enough job that involves soldering etc.

    Anyone had something similar done?

    Thanks

It depends on how the connector is attached to the board and the damage which has been caused. Sometimes there are tracks around the power connector which have been damaged and are difficult to repair.

Someone may repair the board only for it to breakdown a few months later so you might be better off replacing the board for peace of mind. If its just the pin has snapped out of the middle of the connector then it should be an easy enough fix for someone with a soldering iron, some flux and solder.
