    Looking to play some senior football. Living in Glasnevin? I've played intercounty minor, U21 and some senior. Any advice on going about finding a new club or are culchies unwelcome!

    Do you know anybody already playing with a club in Dublin? If so, talk to them and see what they're like. If not, Na Fianna would probably be your closest club. They've a very good set-up down there, play in Division 1 and Senior A championship and wouldn't exactly be known for having an unwelcoming attitude towards culchies!:D

    Yeah had a stroll down the Mobhi Rd last week, Na Fianna's facilities look good. I heard they were in decline, but also heard they are taking a couple of young lads from the Kildare team...

    Know lads in Plunketts and St. Brigids, reckon the latter would be too far away. Plunketts would seemingly have quite a well established squad also, they mightn't be as hungry for players.

    Especially if you are a defender; their attitude of you can score as often as you want we will just score more is what is holding plunketts back;

    Google live in glasnevin, played with NF for years(not at a great standart mind you)! Know they are a very young team who are not a bad side at all. However in terms of winning championships the lads would'nt be quite there, yet! They train 3 times a week i think at a good enough standart! Any help needed,shout!

    You are not to far from Erins Isle either. Also Whitehall C.C.

    St. Vincents and Clontarf wouldn't be too far either, think Clontarf only play in Senior Champo though and Division 3 league?

    Thanks for the advice lads. I understand there are a few clubs in the area alright which is great. As long as the team was taking their football seriously, playing to a good senior standard and giving it 100% I'd be happy with that.

    My club at home had bags of talent and plenty of county players, but too much messing. Absolutely sick of that carry on.

    Ideally I'd be joining a club who was welcoming of new lads also. I know of certain clubs where they would be very slow to take lads. You can't have it every way though I suppose!

    Is there anywhere where I can see results of championship and perhaps the league tables for this season?

    vins went furthest in the champ with regards teams in the area however they are in a relegation struggle so dunno how things are up there! Na fianna are top 3 in the league and pushing for playoffs, so either team would be a good option i think

    I would be carefull to draw too many conclusions form the league to be fair. Look at Crokes in relegation trouble mainly due to resting players for their championship and all ireland club run.

    the lads have given you the list of clubs the best thing to do is arrange to go to a training session at one or more of them and take it form there. Looking at results isnt a good way to find a new club IMO

    +1. Some clubs will be more welcoming than others, no better way than a training session or two to get an idea of the club.

    Ballymun Kickhams are just up the road from Glasnevin. They have a really decent squad, beaten by a point by Kilmacud Crokes a couple of weeks ago. About 10-11 of the team are 21 or under, so they have a really good young team. PM me is you want a contact number.
