Clicked onto this video because it looks like the same cam set up I use myself. Hopefully I wont ever record something similar in mine.

Be advised you may get a bit of a shock (no gore or anything so don't worry)

    Scary!

Unreal. You always think you'll have time to react when a crash is impending, whereas most of them will happen like this in a split second. Terrifying.

And there's absolutely nothing he can do about it. :(

Speed limit was 50kph (it's painted on the road) So closing speed was 100 kph.

Had enough time to scream anyway.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Shocking vid - where is it from?

Thankfully, we are now supposed to be using proper concrete or armco dividers here now, aren't we?

That's mad. You wouldn't exactly be keeping an eye on that side of the road either. Would be even freakier if you happened to be glancing in the mirror at the time then bam from the front..

I saw this somewhere else recently, and they said it was a Japanese rental car, hence the dash cam. Can't be certain of that though.

Jesus that was a big impact, but the front of the mini-bus didn't look too bad, well better than i though it would anyway.

Yikes! at least the roads were dry allowing some form of grip. The black van seemed to have taken the corner too quickly.

That center reservation/divider was pretty uselsss. Imagine the carnage if it was a heavy artic truck or bus that crossed rather than a van or mini bus?

Mental!!! Reminded me too much of my own crash!! there is no time to react though.

Its a good lesson not to stay in the fast / over taking lane!

Jebus, that is a freaky movie, scary stuff.

The divider there was not fit for purpose. There was a program on the Discovery channel before where they were showing the normal divider and it showed that it was only suitable for cars and vans (in some cases flipping over the cars onto their roofs but keeping it on its own side of the road). A truck hitting it at >45 degrees had a good chance of entering the other side of the motorway.

They then showed one made from wires and because it gave way, it could not be used where there was no distance between the two directons of traffic, but if there was a grass verge between them it could stop almost anything that normally used the roads. There were clips and whatnot that held the wire flying all over the place for a hundred yards in each direction and the wire moved quite a bit but it absorbed the energy of a loaded concrete delivery truck at 45 degrees. Dont know what speed but it was moving at a fair clip.

Jesus, that frightening alright. On the clipaday site they say "Don't worry. We assume everyone was OK". Fairly big assumption TBF?

I thought that too, but the realised the road markings are for left lane-left exit and right lane straight ahead.

So if the minibus driver wasnt there, and a vehicle was in the other lane slightly behind its position....it wouldnt have got hit?

I'm saying it high lights an interesting point. Maybe in this case he still would of been hit, but maybe not as bad. Maybe he would of had an extra 0.25 seconds before impact, enough to get a bit further into the hard shoulder etc.

Yea, but lets say it was a different road with a similar bend where this happened. You'd definitely be better in the left lane....

Doesn't appear to be an overtaking lane arrows show that the inside lane is a left hand turning lane no?

Still scary sh*t whatever way you look at it. Happened very quick hope nobody was injured

A car flying across the dual carrigeway on the wrong side of the road....sorry but I dont agree the impact wouldnt have been as bad had he have been in the left lane. This accident is simply too fast to react to. I dont agree it raises an interesting point, I just feel your point is null.

I dont agree with camping in the fast lane at all, but saying its safer in the left lane incase someone comes careering across the divider? Nah.

    Horrific accident and very scary!

But the speed limit was 50kmh, we don't have a divider on most roads with that limit.
