    Daytime? Overnight?

The Park's not exactly well appointed with dedicated cycle parking, but many of the buildings/destinations (Zoo, Farmleigh, PP Visitors' Centre) have somewhere to park- railings, fences, etc.

For recreational park use, I usually just see people with their bikes on the grass near their picnic, football game, bike polo match, etc.

Depends how good your lock is, how good your locking technique is and how good your bike is.

For the millionth time I'm posting HAL:

You should give up that jogging lark, keep cycling and you won't have to worry about bike thieves.

I'd guess that any of the destinations I listed should be safe enough during their opening hours. Outside those hours, maybe consider leaving it on street outside the Park? I don't know what entrance you use- at the town end, there are Sheffield stands outside Ryan's pub on Parkgate Street.

No idea about the helmet. (One tip- leave it higher than a dog can cock its leg!)

you could lock it on the railings outside the Garda HQ entrance. pretty sure theres guards around there 24hours so should be safe enough

Garda HQ sounds like the best bet, or maybe the railings outside the bike rental place just inside the Parkgate Street entrance (assuming it's open and they don't accidentally rent your bike to someone :) ).

Garda HQ is a good spot alright, left a bike locked outside there for an entire weekend before and it wasn't touched but then again it wasn't much of a bike. Generally I'd think bikes are safer in the Phoenix Park than on most city streets especially during the day as most scumbags don't bother themselves taking the trek out.

maybe safer but ive seen plenty of car windows smashed just up from the HQ over the summer so its not scumbag free
