GAA Senior Football record?

    Hi there, just have a querie. I was wondering what is the record for the club with the longest status as a senior football club?

    I know Skryne hold the record in Meath. They have been playing senior football since 1936, without once dropping down to intermediate. I wonder if it is a record. Can anyone top that? Cheers.

    Think Ballina Stephenites would come close if not surpass it. Will have a look tomorrow.

    Austin Stacks from Tralee. From what I can see on their website they have only been outside Division 1 for 2 years. They also played as Rock Street

    IIRC Rathnew have an unbroken history since 1886. If i'm correct that will take some beating.

    This is a bit of a hard question to find out really. In Kerry a team could drop to Division 3 in the county league but still play senior championship.In my lifetime I can't remember the likes of Kerins O Rahillys, Austin Stacks, Laune Rangers and DR Crokes not playing senior championship. Whilst I can remember them being relegated a few times.

    Just checked over last weekend, they have an unbroken record of senior football right the way back to 1886.

    Kilrossanty are playing senior football in Waterford a long number of years. Nearly lost out last year, beating neighbours John Mitchells in a relegation play off with practically the last kick of the game. They have turned things around this year and are playing Stradbally in the semis on Sunday.

    Just checked it out and Kilrossanty won the Junior Football Championship in 1937, and have played senior since. (I think).
