Just flickin the channels and came across Stade Francais playin Brive on Setanta, so I said I'll have a goo, and oh my god I could not believe my ears when I heard that voice, it was like my child hood came flashing back, it was a voice that was reassuring, grand and majestic, yet distinguished, not even todays pretenders come close, him and Mr Maclaren with his "jiggery pokery" were titans of the commentary box. I am of course referring to Fred Cogley, what a legend. Thanks Fred keep up the good work

Possibly the worst rugby commentator of all time.

With the ever boring and plain Killian Keane backing him up but at least Keane knows the players names, Freds just saying "Kick by the centre/outhalf/scrumhalf". Would send you to sleep.

Oh yeah he is brutal, not helped either by the French league this year which is also hard watching at times.

I think I remember listening to Fred commentating on the Munster and Leinster schools senior cup finals last spring, classic Cogley -The mans a scream. I have very fond memories of Saturday afternoons watching 5 nations games with my dad.
