    Hi larraine,

I doubt you would have to give any presentations as the course number is huge and they have to have lecturers to observe the presentations.
From what i hear from Arts courses, you will have to attend 'tutorials' which is a small group of people (maybe around 10?) with a tutor and you would discuss essays or what not. This would probably be the only oral part of the course.
I did Engineering (and have a bad stammer especially in front of a group of discerning individuals like lecturers) and we had to give a fair amount of presentations particularly in the final years of the course. I never really felt I got marked down for it because a presentation these days consists of having slides, so if you have good clear slides that is half the battle really. it may help to let the lecturer know of your condition and they will take this into account. good luck! :)

Do you know there's a forum here for stuttering and stammering and speech disorder? http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1016 You might find something useful there.

I did a part time course last year and there were two guys who had stammers. They both did two presentations (very well) during the year. They've now gone on to do Neuroscience and Engineering courses. It definitely is possible. Don't let it put you off. Good luck!
