    Hi
I am a start up business in operation for around two months, things are very hectic and I need to take on admin help for 1-2 days per week. I cant afford to pay much - but was wondering how much I should offer as a day rate? It would be for general admin duties - placing ads, taking calls, doing data entry for accounts etc etc.
Any ideas - because I dont know where to pitch it??
    Thanks in advance

I'd say around €75 per day take home. I work in admin and that's roughly what I started on

Not sure if many people are aware of this but you can get yourself a virtual assistant based out of india online and they are fantastic the link is www.taskseveryday.com. I have used them before and have been more than happy with their services.

I would pay aprox 27,500 - 30,000 per annum for someone with experience, this would be for general admin.

if you check out nixers.ie under admin, you will see similar jobs with current wages.

As you are a start up, €75 to €100 per day seems reasonable, remember to take account of employers PRSI at 10.75%. If you are paying a daily rate, you will need to take account of holiday pay and BH pay, it is 8%.

Earlier this year I was looking for someone similar and received over 250 applications, some of the candidates had great experience

Sorry, but what is the point of this?

Caroline replied to the OP very mannerly and advertised her services in and open, professional and proper way. There is no need to take a cheap shot and snipe at someone trying to win some business. This forum is supposed to be here to let us help each other and bounce ideas off each other.

Thank you Hammertime. This is my first time on this forum and it is reassuring to know that there are genuine people not just mice on here.

How does a virtual assistant work?

First time I've ever heard of that! Is it a new fad?

The main difference between a virtual assistant and an office assistant is that they can help you remotely from their own home. Depends what the employer is looking for. I know one lady who has a virtual assistant in Australia and gets all her reports typed up while she sleeps. Phones can be diverted and any correspondence can be dealt with by email, so you can be set up to look as if your actually in the office. It's clever use of technology and can save an employer a lot of money in payroll resources, holiday pay, sick pay, etc. The virtual assistant can get full pay by working for more than one employer.

The only Irish website that comes to mind is www.virtualassistants.ie

I hope this answers your question.
