Selecting contrast colours for walls?

Hey, doing some decorating at the moment, in my new home!!! want to paint a contrast colour on the chimney stack in the living room and one wall in each of the bedrooms. any advice on what colour to choose? the house was painted recently with Magnolia in every room. but don't want to repaint the whole thing

If you wallpaper the wall in bedroom with something like linda barker natural wallpaper rom Homebase, it will look great with the magnolia. Some colours will be hard to match with the magnolia though because of its yellow base.
