    He made a bit of a twat out of himself, to say the least. At the same time, it's a bit unfair to expect him to take all of the Irish government's mistakes on his back - even if he was responsible for a share of it.

    this clip was like something off the Joe Duffy show. O cuiv showed great patience in the face of intolerable hippies (why weren't they working, have they no jobs, is Europe to finance their lifestyle)

    Galway appears to be something of a paradox. its population is mainly comprised of foreigners and blow-ins yet the city seems to be strongly against foreign influence like the EU.

    GC -> EU

    O'Quiv asks a French guy "Have you read the Irish Constitution?". Classic!

    I had a stand up row with one of those no campaigners on Shop St in Galway last Wednesday - a French anarcho-communist (tall dude with the red t-shirt), who thought that democracy was a bad idea when people kept voting for political parties other than socialists. He also trotted out the usual lies that were common across the No camp - that Cion would be able to make decisions off their own bat after Lisbon, that it involved conscription, that the minimum wage would fall. On being challenged, he had no argument to offer, except that Hitler was elected :rolleyes:

    This is what the foot soldiers were saying. Personaly, it has restored my faith in the Irish people that they were able to see through the lies and FUD cast about in vast quantities by the No side. I'd hardly be the greatest fan of O'Cuiv, but he held his ground well against the crazies here.

    Forum Charter - not everyone can view videos (particularly if they access boards.ie from work), so a video doesn't make an adequate OP without a decent explanation.

    moderately,
