I went in to sign off on wednesday. I was told by the woman in the SWoffice that not only will i receive backpay for the 11 weeks since July im owed but i will also receice backpay from Feb to May that i was out of work for. This came as a welcome surprise but im wondering why did they come to this conclusion all of a sudden? I didnt receive any backpay from feb to may because I didnt get any letter telling me where and when to pick up my payment, so when i went in for the first time to sign off in may i was told my claim had been closed as i failed to collect my payments. But i was told to write a letter to the office explaining my situation, which i did but i didnt get any reply since writing it in may. Also when i went in on wednesday I was told that my backpay would be paid into my bank account as it was a substantial amount. Does anyone know how long this should take or what days do they pay during the week? She also said she would send me a letter in the next few days, but nothing has arrived yet. Does anyone else have a similiar experience like this? Finally, how long do you think i should wait before i ask about when i will get paid? as im worried they will just forget about my claim again and change their minds about my backpay. I know its a confusing story as im a bit confused myself but any replies would be appreciated.
