    Hi,

I need help! I have a wedding in two weeks and have no dress - I've looked at this one (http://www.warehouse.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion/Spotlight/pleated-detail-prom-dress/12462) and I love it and have the perfect shoes, but question is - can I wear cream to a wedding?!

I've only seen it online and am going to look tomorrow but any opinions would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Im sorry but I think that looks like a wedding dress, so therefore ouwldnt wear it to a wedding tbh. There is a similar thread somewhere and it was a big no-no to wear cream to a wedding..

It is in blue also - could you go for that? Don't think its appropriate for a wedding - imagine the brides dress was a similiar style???

No sorry but wearing that dress would be really rude..........

No way! That dress is not only cream, it looks very like a wedding dress only in a short version. I would be very annoyed if I was the bride, it would be quite rude and you'd be the talk of the day (and not in a good way!)

    Okay so!

    New dress to find!

There was a gorgeous shift dress in pink but it's gone off the website, hopefully it'll still be in the shop.

Tbh I just wanted to wear the shoes in that colour, but oh well, looks like I'll have to buy a new pair of shoes!! :D

Absolutely not (unless you are the bride?)

Dear god no way. Anything cream or white is a definite no no to a wedding.

I think it could be really lovely if you had the time to dye it pink.

It would be lovely in pink!

    Went with this one:http://www.warehouse.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion/Spotlight/fan-pleat-halter-dress/13392

Much happier with it than the cream, although in real life it was more champagney colour, would have been acceptable!

I have to laugh at the reactions here on this dress.

I wore this dress to a wedding recently & nobody batted an eyelid. The colour is actually more champagne/ gold than looks in the picture.

I ran it by the bride 1st & she was absolutely fine with it.

Theres no way you can compare this to a wedding dress, I've never seen a bride wear something like this.

I could understand if it was a long white dress!

Based on the colour of the dress shown online, it is very like a wedding dress.

While the OP may not have had anyone mention the dress to her face to face, she may have had unnecessary bitching behind her back. I'm not saying that's fair, but it is what happens.

Also, and this is of course just my opinion, the fact that you had to "run it by the bride" would automatically make me think it was inappropriate.

As I said, we can only base our opinions on the colour we can see online, but it is basic wedding etiquette not to wear a white/ivory dress to a wedding.

Thanks! I felt a bit stupid when I saw the replies!

It's definitely not the colour it is in the picture, so there would have been no bother wearing it.

But I like the one I got :)
