Putting, changing grip

I made a subtle change to my putting grip a few days ago, and it has worked wonders. I can feel my swing is much more solid now, and the amount of putts i have holed has almost doubled.

Within 15ft im sinking that majority of them,
and from outside that range, im getting very close...

the change i made is simple..

my left hand was always above my right, and not interlinked.
This hasnt changed, but i used to point my index finger down the shaft and used it as a means to add stabilty to my forward stroke, The simple change i have made is to use my right hand to grip the putter similar to an iron/wood, but a little more suttle, thus the index finger is curled around the back.
I suspect a lot of people use this grip anyway, but it was such a seamless change, and im reaping the rewards..

just thought id share the experience..

I can say with 99% certainty that the upturn in fortunes is psychological.
If Golf is 90% mental, then putting is close to 100% in the head

It's the same reason i think people tend to put better with new putters. They give you self-confidence.
But whatever is working for you - keep it up!

    yep, could well be true..

what triggered the change was not that i was missing putts, it was that i felt i wasnt able to keep control of the clubhead, so i knew there was a problem with the way i was doing it. I am simply surprised at how well it has turned out, and i dont feel as though im fighting to keep the clubhead stable.... this might be fact, or it might be as you say psychological :)

Amazing!!!!!!!!! I made the exact same adjustment about 5 years ago and, as a result, I rarely 3 putt.

I just wish I could come up with a similar solution for my driver!!!! :(

I might have..... I bought a Ping G5 12 degree driver with a soft regular shaft. I've adjusted my ball position (golf ball!!!!) at address and today I hit 12 drives straight the middle.

Maybe there is a god after all. ;)
