Does anyone know locations besides library where I can study?

Just wonder where it is possible to study besides DCU library, where student IDs are not required. I am a UCD student, but just living very close to DCU. It would be handy to study in DCU instead. Apparently I don't have a DCU student card. ;)

Anybody knows if there's such a study area in DCU? (I usually study in the restaurant near the car park B but it didn't look that right when all the students rushed in for lunch...) :(

You could just find an empty lecture room and sit down to study until people start filling in for a class.

I did it before but it turned out that I had to move and move and move ...... In UCD blackrock we have a study area where there are desks and internet connections and anyone can go in. I thought there might be on in here as well.

That's possibly true. I used to study in the main canteen across the R&D building and when lunch time it would be so weird that I was the only one who was not having lunch there...

You can apply to DCU library for external membership. "Access Only" membership costs €126 for 12 months or €63 for 6 months.

Or you could try approaching UCD library staff and asking for a card to allow you entry to DCU library - tell them you need to go in there to get research materials for a project.

There is a card for postgrads called an ALCID card which allows the user into any university library, there may be something similiar for undergraduates - try asking at UCD.

What about Ballymun public library? It's just past the Ballymun Road/Collins Avenue junction on the left hand side.

To use the computers you need a valid DCU login. Same with all the computers on campus.

Most rooms have a timetable on their door so you can see if it's likely to fill up any time soon. Lectures tend to finish after 6pm anyway, so unless there's a club/society event on you should be free to use the room after that.

What about only using the room but not using computers? Are there any desks without computers on them? Sounds really silly I know...

Thanks. Since now I can go apply for an ALCID card I think everything would be sorted. But thanks anyway!
