I'm surprised with that, I was listening to BA Chief executive ( I think) who is Irish on CNN midweek explaining about the new all-business class flights they are starting to operate between Heathrow or Gatwick to JFK with a stop in Shannon along the way for immigration clearance.

Yeah, I put it on the aviation forum a while ago.

I need to know what airlines use the preclearance at shannon. Also what is involved there? Do you get all your fingerprints scanned or just your two forefingers as in recent years?
Thanks. I need to know the finer details due to my drunk arrest in LA two years ago b4 I book a flight cos with ten that will show up I think.

If you have a record I don't think you can avail of the VWP or ESTA. You may want to look into that?

Yes I dont think you can but my arrest never came up last 3 times I entered US so its obviously too petty and why mention it. I was just concerned about the new ten fingerprinting scanner that might bring it up. Last times it was only two fingers. I have been accepted by esta no problems but that does not guarantee entry if they see my arrest and I didnt mention it then I could be refused entry for lying.
But if I tell the truth I may not get in either! so is there ten fingers or two in shannon? does any of you know. my whole family in US.

I flew with Aer Lingus from SNN to JFK on 9 July, and AL were using the US customs and immigration facility. Arrival at JFK was Terminal 4 (domestic).

Re an arrest for drunkenness, the ESTA asks about arrests for crimes involving "moral turpitude". Drunkenness probably doesn't count. Have a look at the Wikipedia article on moral turpitude, and possibly also the Dept of Justice (very long) guidance on Visa Applications which covers this area at http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86942.pdf
