    Hi there

My girlfriend is on the pill and is very diligent about taking it, has a reminder set on her phone to go off every day etc. She had her period a few days early on Tuesday but it only lasted a little over 24 hours.
I was a bit concerned by this as we had sex two days previously to that. She isnt concerned as she says her pill can make her cycle a bit temperamental at times, so I'm just wondering if this is a common enough occurrance amongst pill taking women?

    Thanks

    Hey,

Im not a guru on this but, my gf and ex's were able to control when they had it with the pill. Freaked the **** outa me the first time, especially the way you described it, but so far no little PlastikdaN's running around, so im sure you`ll be fine.

Can any women back us up a bit?

It's common to have "spotting" in between periods when you're on the pill. Spotting is when you get bleeding in between one cycle and the next. It can be very similar to a period or it can look like tiny flecks of blood in the underwear. It's fairly common and is a side effect which should be mentioned in your gf's booklet that she gets with her pill.
If you're still worried about it I'd suggest getting her to go to the doctor and he/she will reassure you both.

    Hope that helps!

As the above poster said spotting is a pretty common occurance whilst on the pill. Did your gf have her usual period afterwards on the usual day?If so I wouldn't be too worried and she should just keep an eye on things. If it happens again she could visit the doctor - sometimes the pill can just start disagreeing with you and she might have to change to a different one.

If your g/f has just recently started using the pilll diffently normal takes your cycle ages to get used to it.... or if she gets her period as normal then its just break thru bleeding normal. but if she keeps bleeding between periods id go to the doctor.

i came off the pill 2 months ago and the exact same thing happened me a week early lasted 1 day. didnt get it again till next month at the normal time was grand .... prob just her own individual cycle!

    Hi all

Thanks for your advice! She said it has been coming and going all week and finally sort of hit last night, so I guess it's just a weird variation in her cycle, she's not worried by it at all so I'll trust her own intuition on it :)

    Cheers
