my friend has had a hip replacement and cannot get into her bath. we saw an advert for a bath with a door that then seals shut, and you can sit on a seat in the bath and their is an easily accessible shower head to use to wash yourself. However, it was in america... does anyone own one of these, or know where I might find one in ireland?

Try http://www.assistireland.ie/eng/ or http://www.accessdirectory.ie. Your friend's occupational therapist should be able to help also.

My brother bought one for my mum but it has never been successful - the seal on the door never worked properly and leaked. He bought it in Tralee from a standard bath showroom. If I were you I would go for a wet room with a seat and grab rails - much easier solution.
