Dunno if it's been done but would be an intriging concept

one script 2-4 directors 2 for the sake Of this,
you give an established director say speilberg the script, but a small budget
and an unknown mediocre director the same script but 200 million dollar budget and access to any stars, how different would the two movies be? just something i think about now and then

this doesn't sound that different to modern hollywood unknown directors making big budget remakes of classic simple production films???

I'd maybe think of it like this, it could be something like Jaws versus any McG movie.
For a 200 million budget, I'd foresee significant studio meddling with an unknown director. To stupendously horrible scales. It would be a Tom Cruise, Megan Fox and Nic Cage blowin shit up fest, with the Wayans brothers as comic relief. Cameos from Lady Gaga and Kanye West.

    I feel ill.

I think someone like Soderbergh is a good example of an established director who still makes low budget movies that are good, as sort of personal projects.
