PS3 and LG TV interference

If anyone can help i would appreciate it.

For a while now i have been getting slight "snow" on my ps3. I can still see the screen, but the interference is there in the foreground. I have it connected to the TV via a HMDI cable.

I've tried moving the PS3 further away from the tv, changing the cable, changing to the second HDMI input on the tv but no joy.

Its not a showstopper but it is slightly annoying. Has anyone come accross this before ?

Would this "snow" you describe happen most when the Ps3 is in its main menu? Or with dark scenes?

Is it just the PS3 plugged in ? Sometimes a DVD player can cause problems with the signal.

My plasma has started showing Blue pixels in certain areas in just one corner. Not all the time but if its been on for a few hours it will start to show, not a major problem but everything in around a 4" square area is blue !!

yes, mostly on the main menu, and the startup screens of games. Its almost like the interference you used to get on the old analogue tv stations.

Does it happen on the composite cable as well? Could be that HDMI cable?
Also have you tried your ps3 on a dfferent TV like a friends for example?

It sounds like you have this problem because of the low variations of black or dark colours (that clash) that the TV can display.

For example, if you have a bright colour that gradually goes dark, like the XMB or the main menu of the PS3 , it will look slightly distorted or pixelated on our TV's - I have a LG 37" screen myself and have this small problem, especially in the main menu (or XMB) of the PS3.

Apologies if this comes across as pedantic if you already are familiar with this term.
