Are any Irish cinemas showing the 2 films in 3D? One of the cinemas in Limerick is showing the first one in 3D, but I'd like to see both!

Storm in Limerick isn't, strangely. Omniplex here is, but there's nothing on their website about the second one.

Storm doesnt have a 3D screen in Limerick yet, they'd want to get their finger out though as 3D movies will get bigger and bigger and with Avatar out in 2 months

It's apparently being split up for the UK and Ireland...

I'm a little ticked about it, but I saw the first one last night. Pretty awesome to see it again on the big screen.

I'd like to see it on the big screen again but not in 3D. It was perfect the first time around.

If you get a chance to see it in 3D is really is a magical cinema experience I went with my 4 year old on Sunday and I don't know which one of us enjoyed it more. It hasn't aged a bit and the added 3rd dimension is, in true Disney Pixar form done subtly and to perfection.

The advent of 3D has rekindled my love of the cinema again.

I saw the trailer in 3D and that was enough to put me off. I'd much prefer to stick on the dvd instead.

And to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of all this 3D malarkey. I've watched both Coraline and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D and I was disappointed by the experience.

Went to see this today and I think Toy Story remains one of the finest films ever made. Exaggeration? I personally don't think so, as it has some of the finest characters, humour ("You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity") and a sense of innocence and playfulness that defines the very best of kid's films (My Neighbour Totoro is probably the best other example of this). A cynic could probably dismantle it on a number of grounds (you can't deny that this film is just build for merchandising) but that the film succeeds and overcomes such criticism just proves the craftmanship and talent that went into it. I have loved Toy Story since I saw it on release day 14 (!) years ago, and it was great seeing it in the cinema again. Technically films have moved on (the textures and lighting are a little bit basic compared to today) but few CGI films have come anywhere near the benchmark set by Toy Story (Pixar themselves are the only ones who have come close).

However, I don't think the 3d adds anything in particular to the equation (the most obvious use was in the final Christmas scene, where the snow falling looked fantastic). It is more subtle than most 3d releases, again merely adding a greater sense of depth to scenes than anything (it, thankfully, avoids any 3d 'tricks', probably because it was reverse engineered). I wouldn't call the 3d a selling point of the re-release, I'd say it is more the chance to hear You've Got a Friend In Me blasted out in the theatre again. Made me all nostalgic! :)
