that strange ... usually they leave the carcass and take the head to stuff
you could get in touch with a tixidermist he/she might take it for a cash sum

I havent really looked at the head much, no idea if its damaged but ive no interest in getting money for it. I just dont want it rotting outside my house

take a saw, cut of the antlers, dump in bin?

You could attach the antlers to the wall to use a coat hooks, if you have a big hallway it would look ok
As for the head you cant bin it, dig a hole and bury it about 2 foot deep would suffice and stick big rocks over it as you dont want foxex to dig it up

Im not digging a hole two feet deep in my garden to bury a deer head.Is there nobody that would come take it away? It may sound silly to you guys but not everyone wants to saw off a dead deers antlers and bury its head in their garden.

But not everybody wants to come to a strangers house and take away a rotten deer head either....

    It's a bit of a pickle.

You might have to deal with it yourself

You could try your local Co Council (I think it's the environmental department, or somesuch). If you look in your (eircom) phone directory, there's a section in the middle for govt depts. You might have to try a few numbers, but someone should be able to advise or direct you. We had rubbish dumped at the end of our lane once and it was eventually cleared away after a couple of phone calls and a simple form to fill in. However, it's best not to touch anything or try to tidy it up, just report it. Hope that helps.

The antler might be decent enough to make some sticks from too...plenty of people out there will be looking for something like that...If you ring the NPWS and get the local rangers number, im sure he/she will sort it for you ;)

No one is going to take it away. In all fairness like!
If you don't want to remove it surely you know someone who will bury it for you.
Its unfortunate that some clown dumped it but if you want if moved I'm afraid break out the shovel,a bag of lime & get those ruby shoes dirty!

Cant exactly let Mr. Binman worry about it & not using the antlers is a waste...

Weekend ahead, nobody in the CoCo until Monday morning - if you don't want to look at it over the weekend - ask somebody to bury if you cannot do it yourself... :o

If you can do this without it getting out of control or damaging somones property...A gallon of petrol, an old tyre and some firelighters,or if you are more pollution minded a load of firelighters and plenty of dry wood and cremate it.

Or maybe some lads in your neck of the woods here might do a "Sir Galahad" and remove it or bury it for you,if you ask them nicely??:)

Its bad form that it was left on your lane, but you gonna have to sort it out yourself. If it be bury, dump or burn it you living in the country now and complaining ain't gonna get rid of it, time to be proactive ruby.:D

moose is quite right, living in the countryside takes a particular type of Gal!- either burn or bury the deer head, then nip inside and make a scone, after that you can whittle away the hours whitewashing the byre:D:D

might be worth finding out who your local wildlife ranger is and let them know.

Not to mind chopping and bringing in the wood, and weeding the garden,or going out and selecting and converting Sundays chicken dinner,in it's raw state out in the yard to oven ready....After all them easy "womens work" jobs, dealing with an aul stags head should be no bother..Sure you could always boil it up for soup for the dogs,if you have any...:D:D:D:D:D

Fair play, good sport. Came for some help, got some & a bit of a ribbing to go with it & took it on the chin.
If Mr.Dunne had a chin like you he'd still have his belt! :D
