http://www.amphibianking.ie/ This place is recommended a lot in the sport forums. I got my runners there, they do video you running and do gait analysis in the store, spend a good bit of time with you, even let me try runners out running around the carpark.

They are not cheap runners mind, they only sell proper technical running shoes,

I'd recommend sportsdirect.com I just got a new pair of asic kayano ladies runners there for £75 whereas they're €105 on the above site.

I was looking for a pair of runners in TKMax's in Blanch last week and I bought a pair of Asics Gel Blackheath (whatever that is) for E30 reduced from E130 or thereabouts.

Sort of a mixture between a walking shoe and a football boot. Very comfortable. Only problem is that you bring 1/2 the field back into the house with you in the studs/grips.

Just a note that the main reason I went to amphibian king was the experience & qualifications the guys have, I was there over 20mins with the guy selecting shoes, getting told the difference between pronation etc.

If you know the exact runners you want then you could well get cheaper online, but the customer service in this place was excellent. Or if you just want "fashion runners" go online, that place doesn't sell them. So if you are doing serious running I would recommend them. In other stores the staff could have been flipping burgers the week before!

I have my asics a long time now and they are still in perfect nick, sole is just a little worn and I wear them almost all the time. Very good quality runners.

I'd caution against the extremely basic 'gait analysis' offerred by the likes of Amphibian King. It looks only at the leg below the knee and the runners they prescribed for me were completely wrong for me.

After still having problems, I went to IrishFit and the €120 I spent for a comprehensive 2-hour gait analysis with written report and exercises prescribed was amongst the best money I have ever spent. Root cause of problem was at the hips and they gave me totally different runners which have helped, though main solution was the exercises.

Maybe if you don't have any problems or injuries, the basic Amphibian King service might be ok, but if you have a special requirement or an injury, I'd really recommend investing in a proper gait analysis.
