I don't think that'll be any good for those who already updated to 3.1 as their baseband firmware will already have been updated.

I'm on my 15th try and I keep getting error 1600 and my iPhone is stuck in DFU mode. Don't do this people!

Only took me 4!Did you download the right firmware?Oh and I think the ECID's are only needed for downgrades from 3.1

Got it working eventually...you don't even need to put it into DFU mode

I really am unsure about how to unlock my iPhone. I updated to 3.1 by accident, and want mine unlocked! But it says on the devteam site that i can only get pwnagetool for Mac, and the video posted above is only for those who are on 3.0, and 3.0.1

He says something in the video about downgrading from 3.1 to 3.0

If you're on 3.1 then you're out of luck. You'll only be able to downgrade if you captured you're ECID, IBSS and IBEC files when you were on 3.0

i had to do it twice, first custom ipsw i made i didn't select activate the phone as i thought since i had an o2 sim in that i wouldn't need to. so i had to make a new custom ipsw and it worked fine.

iphone 3g s 32gig, from the states that was locked to AT&T.

so you cant downgrade .I was trying that just there but got a unknown error message with itunes and had to restore to 3.1.1.Mine is a 16gig itouch.

I am currently running on 3.0.1 and would love to have some backup if i caught the 3.1 virus (that it is):D , can you please explain to me how i can keep my ECID , IBSS and IBEC as backup .

Yea but I cant seem to downgrade it.I have the firmware and I put it into DFU mode,it starts but then stops says unknown error 20.Has anyone actually downgrade from 3.1.1 and tell me how to do it?

Once you have restored it and jailbroken it 3.1 will iTunes re sync all your contacts and apps again?

I jailbroke mine the day I got it and I've never jailbroken it since i've put all my apps etc on it.

Depends.

1:If they're apps from Cydia you have to download AptBackup.This'll backup a list of your Cydia apps.Then jailbreak again go to Cydia get AptBackup again and hit restore.This'll re-download all your apps from Cydia in one go.You might want to do this on WIFI or you risk getting charged an extortionate amount from 02

2:If you got them from iTunes it will automatically re-sync them.

As for contacts just plug your phone into iTunes,right click on it on the left hand side when it shows up,hit backup and when your done the Jailbreak iTunes will ask you if you want to set up as new or restore from backup.Hit restore from, backup and chose the backup you done earlier.This will sync all your contacts.
