NCT on Monday, all 4 wheel trims held happily on with cable ties, I don't want the hassle of having to remove them and buy new cable ties to put them all back again  Anyone gone thru NCT without removing said trims ? any issues ? Did they fail yo' ?

In my experience, they wont even look at the car unless the wheel trims are off, and the seatbelts are not behind the seats (rear seats).

If the wheel nuts are visible through the trims (eg Fiat Punto) they won't have a problem. otherwise you'll have to remove them.

Be careful, a lot of cheap wheel trims have fake wheelnuts moulded into them.
    like so:

I forgot to take them off one round and yes, they did fail me on it.

'Twas only a visual inspection needed though, (had to get a parking
bulb too!), and when I came back next time round he just had
a quick look see and printed out the cert.

I can understand why though, I've worked fitting tyres before
and some of the wheel trims are surprisingly fiddly, and it wouldn't be
hard to break them if you weren't on the ball.
And if it was bolloxed on before you got there worse again!

It's easier on the center this way, otherwise they'd probably be paying
for wheel trims every other day.....
