    Anybody know what happened with a film called 'Easter Sixteen' about the Rising which was meant to go into production this year? Made big news a few months ago but heard nothing about it since...

    According to IMDB, it's still in pre-production, and rumours have Guy Pearce switching character from Connolly to Pearse. Moviehole recently posted this snippet:
    Former "Neighbours" star Nicola Charles will have a role in "Easter Sixteen", director Jason Barry's drama about the Irish uprising of 1916. Anthony LaPaglia stars.
    Nothing new - Nicola is also one of the project producers.

    I have zero expectation of anything worthwhile coming out of this. Certainly not any kind of historical accuracy, more like the Alamo on the Liffey. :rolleyes:

    Still in pre-production but the cast is starting to beef up:
    Easter Sixteen

    Gary Oldman - James Connolly
    Guy Pearce - Padraig Pearse (rumored)
    Chris O'Donnell - Ross

    Wouldnt be mad on the director though, I have a feeling he'll make it in a very 'Hollywood' style to cater for the American audience.

    TBF, the two of them are always wwatchable if not good in anything they are in.
