Supposedly this "festival" will be held in Steamboat Quay on Saturday - I'm just wondering - where are they going to be putting their graffiti? It mentions "painting the boards" on the paper. Anyone more enlightened???? Is it limited to those 23 professionals or can anyone join in?

    Thanks.
    :D

Hopefully it won't start a trend of wannabes around the town; I drove over the new flyover at the Crescent yesterday and some scobe has already defaced it.

Decent artwork graffiti is one thing, or even having specific areas (whether temporary around building sites or something more permanent - can brighten it up or improve it) but vandalising / defacing buildings and bridges looks ****e and makes a place look very run-down.

I, like you don't mind decent work in a controlled environment. BTW - the flyover was defaced within a couple of days of it opening.... and lately there's another couple of idiotic pieces of scrawl on it. Obviously these people 1. Can't draw 2. Have no sense of pride in their city and 3. don't give a rat's a88 about property that isn't theirs.... Makes my blood boil when I see that....

Went down a couple of times throughout the day to get pics of the Graffiti in progress and the guys are amazing! Its an International event with artists from around Europe. This is not the scrawling that ruins the face of Limerick it is real art.

They put boards up around the park whitewashed them and thats where the Graffiti was done.

I knew there was something I'd wanted to check out today! I wasted my afternoon watching tv... :(

Glad to hear the event was successful anyway.

Some of those guys are really talented. That yard on the dock road where all the walls are done looks great tbh.

I see some of them have an email addy on the wall if anyone wants work done.

There are some run down parts of the city that those guys could do a great job in brightening up. It would look good and be a great talking point for both locals and visitors to Limerick. I imagine it would not cost an awful lot to get done either.

Really cool shots there! Great pieces of art! Nice to see proper jobs done rather than the usual squiggles of lazy taggers :)

Could use some nice pieces on Patrick Street - with all the boarded up shops, it's looking very dull and lifeless...

    🤪
