Aldi's/Lidl spirits - are they drinkable?

I've been wanting to try my hand at mixing cocktails for a while now, but I don't really want to pay 20-25 euro for a single bottle of one spirit when I'm going to need two or three to make a proper drink. So to those of ye in the know, are the Aldi's/Lidl/Tesco brand spirits drinkable? Can I, for example, make a martini that won't taste like absolute sh*te out of Aldi's gin?

I'd go with aldi/lidl's cheaper brands over tesco's and yes with cocktails you'll be fine as long as your using good fresh ingredients might be just that little bit nicer with some of the bigger brands - however some of the bigger brands are absolute trash anyway.

I agree about not touching tesco stuff. It's either watered down or as above, paint stripper!
