This Monday 5th Oct, Poker Society will be running a Texas Holdem game in the old bar to gear up for our exciting year ahead.

We will be using casino chips and tables(with drink holders :) )

This is an unofficial DCU Poker Soc game and so is open to all DCU students and staff.

Our first official game will be our free roll taking place sometime within the next 2 weeks.

    The details for this Monday are as follows;

Time and Date: 630 pm registration
    7:00pm start
    Monday 5th Oct

    Location: Old Bar

    Style: Texas NL holdem freeze-out

    Buy in: 10 euro

    Prize pool: 480 EURO est.

Spaces to this event are limited to 48 people on a first come, first serve basis.

ALSO, this is yet to be 100 % confirmed, but people playing will be allowed buy drinks from the nubar and bring them across to the old bar.

anytime we run events, we leave one or two tables open with cards and chips for people to do there own thing, so if enough people want to play a cash game/sit and go, by all means, work away.

lol - what are you like?
winning €20 off broke students will hardly be worth the effort of leaving the laptop...

This was great craic. How many people were there? 60 or 70? Gutted that I was the fourth person to get knocked off at my table. Ah well, there'll be more. Hopefully I'll be signing up to PokerSoc tomorrow!

registeration last night was 76 people.....

We have our free roll in the old bar on Wednesday the 14th, there will be a limited amount of spaces.... probably 90 - 100 so keep in mind preference will more than likely be given to people who join on clubs and socs day...... which is of course today and tomorrow.

I'm not that familiar with poker terms. What's free roll?

a freeroll is a tournament that's free to enter, in this particular case the society is putting up the prizepool.

thought the freeroll was really good. i think the weekly buy in tourneys will be better though cause the standard of player will be better because there will be a buy in.

if anyone lives local to santry, myself and few friends get a weekly cash game going in my place. its only 10c 20c blinds, there does be 5/6 of us. cash in for as much as you like, cash out any time, with any amount after first hour.

anyway, the invitation is there to anyone who fancies a mid week game, 10 seater cash game would be more fun.

get back to me on this.
