    complet newbie to this forum so apoligies if this is a stupid question.

    igota new freeview ready telly and installed it yesterday. when i tuned it in i got RTE1 RTE2 and TnaG in DTV( presume this is digital perfect reception) and a test card for TV3.
    Question is

    What do i need to receive all the english freeview stations.
    Do i need a new aeriel as i can receive bbcs and itv ch4 in analouge but reception is poor, i am living in kells co.Meath.

    You'd need to make sure that your analogue reception is very good to start with, and that your reception comes from Divis or Brougher Mountain.

    If the aerial is in good condition (no elements missing, any masthead amplifier working correctly) then it would probably be better to go down the Freesat route rather than spend a load of money on an aerial upgrade that will give no certainties.

    Best thing would be to check with neighbours and friends locally.
