Felling pretty ill and strange dreams

I'm going unreg for this as my 'issue' doesnt seem too bad but it is freaking me out. Im not looking for any medical advice. I just really want to find out if other people experienced what I am experiencing

Since last weekend I havnt been feeling great. I feel like I have a pretty bad head cold but it is not going away. In fact each day it seems to be getting worse. On top of that I have started developing spots on my back so I figure I must be run down. Im usually pretty active with going to the gym and other activities so I figure it is just my bodies way of telling me I need to take some time out.

I hate been ill and I have been trying to fight against it by going to work, keeping busy, eating healthily (I do this anyway) but also going to bed early each night and having at least 9 hours sleep.

I have been having the most vivid dreams ever over the last few nights. They are so vivid that I can remember just about every detail of the dreams (usually I forget them as soon as I wake up). All my dreams this week have involved people who I havnt seen in over 20 years. Mainly people I went to school with. I dont know why I would be dreaming about them as they were just classmates and not friends. Last night I dreamt I was back in Australia (I lived there for a year 10 years ago) and I could feel the heat of the sun and the wetness of the water etc. It was so vivid it was unreal. There was also a bit of weirdness in the dream in that I had superpowers ( I could fly) and it was a sort of good vs evil type dream. I was in the good camp. (I must be watching too much Heroes :) )

However this morning I woke up with the most empty feeling I have ever had. The best way I can describe it is as a severe case of home sickness and I cant seem to shake it at all. It is really freaking me out as I (for some reason) have this weird feeling that maybe something bad is going to happen. Even writing this out I feel like I am a lunatic :) but I just have this empty hollow feeling that I fear will not go away.

I have an appointment at the doctors tomorrow (I made it earlier in the week) to see if she can figure out my physical symtoms. Im not sure if I should mention the dreams and how I am feeling though??

    Id appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

I tend to have dreams like this right before I get sick (cold/flu etc..). I spoke to my doctor about this and she said its down to the change in body temperature. I have woken up many times in the night crying because these dreams were so vivd.

This doesnt help much I know, but just want to say I know how you feel!!

That happens me with dreams as well - I only ever get nightmares or vivd dreams when I have a flu. I had a nightmare one time that I knocked a couple of people down and killed them and woke up bawling my eyes out - took me a few seconds to realise it was only a bad dream. Only happens me with flus and I've always put it down to having a temperature.

By the way if you're going to work and fighting being ill you're not giving yourself a chance to heal.

The vivid dreams can be caused by a high temperature which can be caused by a cold or flu. You're just a bit down in the dumps because you're body isn't feeling too good. Some time off work and the doctor's appointment will help you out. Everything always seems so much worse when you're wrecked and you're not getting a proper night's sleep. Wouldn't worry about the dreams too much, most like caused by the flu/cold you have. Good thing to go get checked out tomorrow though.

    Good luck

paracetamol based products should help. "Lemsip" "uniflu" "benylin day and night" Try to keep regular hours of sleeping and taking hot showers without fan/window can help decongest and clear you up making you sleep better.

Could be worse. I remember one particular incident where i was playing games to pass the time. In bed i kept passing in and out of consciousness. Every time i came back i spent at least 20 seconds with my hands under the pillow trying to press an invisible keyboard to move. Was really annoying at the time.

The WORST thing for me when im sick is the horrible horrible vivid dreams I get,

Ill know when the flu is coming before I get symptoms cause of the dreams I have leading up to it and during it. They are awful :( Ill stay up for days just to avoid it when sick. Have yet to find out what to do to stop them :(
