Trying to get down my insurance quote ...

Basically, I'm looking for Third party fire and theft insurance for myself (24 year old female), and with my fiance as a named driver. I got this last year with Zurich through a broker for €550, but its jumped up to €750 this year (no claims etc during the year). I've spent my morning ringing round the insurance companies looking for quotes, but I've been offered everywhere between €1000 and €3500 (), and some companies wouldn't even give me a quote at all.

If I leave my fiance off the policy, I can get fully comprehensive insurance as low as €350. He's got his own insurance on a commercial vehicle. What I'm wondering is, is there a way to get him insured on my car via his own insurance (somehow!) for the very occasional time he'd be driving mine, and is that likely to work out any cheaper?

He's never had any claims or penalty points, he's had his full license and insurance in his own name for way way longer than me, it's really ridiculous that having him on it is pushing my premium up so high

    Thanks for any advice!

depending on who he is insured with he may be covered to drive other cars third party. I'm with quinn and drive the girlfriends car like this occasionally

since he's on a commercial vehicle i presume its commercial insurance he has which wouldn't cover him to drive a private car I believe.

I forget what its called but some insurance companies will insure others to drive your car 3rd party if they meet certain criteria, ask them about this.

Also insurance premiums have risen across the board.

could you get open drive on your policy which would enable full licence drivers over 25 - under 70 to drive ur car third party?

the gf has this with axa through a broker.
