I found this site and consider it such an interesting resource I figured I'd share.

    http://www.symbols.com/
    Explore a World of Symbols

Symbols.com contains more than 1,600 articles about 2,500 Western signs, arranged into 54 groups according to their graphic characteristics.

You can start exploring this world of symbols by several means:

    * Use the Graphic Index to search for the meaning or history of a sign.
    * Use the Word Index to find a sign with a certain meaning.
    * Check out a random sign if you feel adventurous.

I found the search on it pretty good and a nice way to track a sign or symbol which as been cropping up.

    Brilliant thread!

I wonder if the hobos left this symbol on Wall Street in NYC?

There goes several hours of my life, wandering through that. I shouldn't love a database so much...
