    Hey guys,

My laptop battery died so I plugged it into my charger. It works but the battery isn't charging. Is there something I can do?

The battery's probably dead. The only solution is a new battery. How old is the laptop? As batteries only have a limited amount of charge/discharge cycles.

some times when there completly dead it might take a while for the laptop to kick off..have you lights on the charger..

could be a faulty battery, faulty charger, broken charger socket.. hard to guess.. but i'd put my money on faulty charger (the laptop should power up without a battery) or broken charger socket on latop..

laptop is a year old. So i would expect it to last longer. Sometimes is charges but its tempermental. I'm living in america at the moment so would the voltage or something be bothering it?

Voltage is halved in the states. are you sure the charger is rated to take an input 110?

Batteries will also wear severely if not allowed to do regular charge cycles. At least every month you should do a complete discharge-charge cycle. This will extend the lifetime of the battery somewhat, according to manufacturers. If you keep it plugged in 99% of the time, go have a good **** in bed or something :pac:

Hmmmm i'd expect a battery to last longer than a year alright. The voltages shouldn't make a difference...although make sure your charger says it can take 110, most if not all do these days thuogh
