Haven't watched it. Seems like I'm not missing anything though :). Not that I've watched Melrose Place either but it has craptacular ratings even for the CW... Accidentally on Purpose and Cougar Town were the two unfunniest "comedies" I've seen in years...

Heroes season 4 seems to be a hell of a lot better than seasons 2 and 3 but time will tell. 24 and Heroes are to big imho to worry about getting the chop.

'Heroes' is on some of its worst ratings yet and isn't a particularly cheap show - it's future is far from safe.
    -Smallville
Only if Tom Welling leaves - I believe it did better in its Friday night slot than any show did in the same slot last year.

I do think 'Dollhouse' is quite dead though.

    and god I hope scrubs

I would say Melrose Place, but I think they'll let it run its course and just not renew it. Same with Dollhouse, Fox clearly don't care about it, look at all the promotion they're giving Glee.
24 hopefully, it's really run its course.
Cougar town will definitely get cut.
Cleveland Show and/or American Dad maybe, although they need another animation to replace it with first.

Glee will be the big winner of the year if it can survive the breaks for baseball, which it should...

    edit: Heroes won't last either

I think this is the last season of 24 anyway but rumours of a movie after to finish it

Given this is a thread about what shows you think will be axed, rather than should be axed... why are those two there? CSI is phenomonally popular. And 'NCIS: Los Angeles' debuted to 18 million and was the 2nd biggest show of the week.... hardly a sign of a show that's going to be axed.

Bit presumptious given the fact those three haven't even aired yet!

Hardly. But, what I've heard or seen first hand about the above is they're not doing great - only time will tell. As for stuff like 24, Scrubs and Heroes, I really like those shows, but reckon they'll be in danger this year.

Yeah but I kinda feel its running on the back of NCIS hope its doesn't though but have that feeling

I do agree about Heroes - expensive show, much lower ratings this year and it's on the network that thinks 500 hours of Jay Leno a week is a good move.

On the other hand, 24 is going into its' 8th year and the rumors that this is very likely the last one have been circling since the end of the 7th. If it ended after the 24 episodes, I would consider it "done", not "canceled". I don't know if I have a different definition from everyone else, but I don't see it as cancellation when a show lasts that long and airs all the episodes of its' last season with a true end in place. A show is canceled if either it is yanked from the schedule at some random point or ends its' season with a huge cliffhanger/view that there are more episodes coming next year...

As for Scrubs, it really ended last year. I wish they would call whatever the hell it is they are airing this year something else instead. Bill Lawrence has also last all credibility for me with the awful Cougar Town...

The promo for Hank didn't look great to be fair. Frasier was excellent but Hank just seems like a pale imitation. I'll watch the pilot maybe when it airs here

yea the writer or producer or something along that line have said that they might stop after the eight season.. i kind of hope they do end it would hate to see it get cancelled would like it to just end..

Well I'm going to list all the ones I've stopped watching due to consistent decreasing quality (I'd like to see heroes last, but I'll put this season on the back burner until it's finished)

    Smallville
    24
    Heroes
    Dollhouse
    Scrubs

Wildcard: The Mentalist (dunno, my guts telling me it's running out of steam fast. Compared to 2x01 of Lie to Me, 2x01 of The Mentalist felt flat.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 277 ✭✭Mikey23

Eastwick. Woeful stuff, sub-Desperate Housewives (even that's even possible!)

Hope FlashForward is let develop. It's already had the "new Lost" tag, but there's a big gap in the entertaining Sci-Fi field.

I've suspicions Fringe mightn't get past this season. Fox killed off the Sarah Connor Chronicles just as it was finally - finally - getting interesting, and carving a niche for itself. Fringe is still only the X-Files with a
    parallel universe.
But for Walter, I doubt I'd watch it.

I also think Eastwick gets axed.....it's dire.

I haven't watched any of "Lie to Me" (yet) to compare but I doubt "The Mentalist" is going anywhere anytime soon, simply based on the fact that it is another procedural and they never seem to get canceled (well, maybe after 6-7 seasons at least)...

The numbers for Fringe and T:SCC were never even in the same universe :). Fringe had pretty high numbers overall last year and got tons of promotion/support from FOX (the exact opposite of T:SCC). Not to mention it's a J.J.Abrams show - and currently at least, networks are falling over themselves for anything he pitches:

    http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/10/01/networks-go-to-war-over-j-j-abrams-new-spec-script/

So, can't see it going anywhere either...

Eastwick though... yep, can't see that getting 10 episodes at the very most.

Yeah, it's not a crime...i predict `V` will suck, i also predicted Flash Forward would be dodgy...i was wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

    i predict `V` will suck

I most definitely hope you're wrong on that one too :). The way ABC is messing with it though doesn't instill confidence on it lasting...

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

I don't want 8 seasons of V, i'd love 13 eps. of pure class with it wrapped up nicely, i hate dodgy CGI...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Let's see if it gets through 1 season first and start worrying if it's dragging on for too long after that...

Who says it'll be dodgy GCI? We haven't seen a single episode yet...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,906 ✭✭✭J-blk

Well, "Trauma" is gone - hardly surprising:

    http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/10/29/goodbye-trauma/

I usually give shows 3 episodes or so, but gave up on this after eventually watching the pilot - it simply had nothing going for it...
