Have to say, am really liking it. The music choices are pretty good, based on what they have to play around with, i've enjoyed the shows i've heard so far especially the "Culture Café". The speakers around the mall area are a great idea and I would hope (not expect) that they will be here for the year.

All in all, it seems to have (so far) lost it's ego and become decent radio - well done

Well is it here for good or is it just on for the first 2 or 3 weeks of college plus the usual rag week????

I listened today. I enjoyed the mix of the music. The guys that run it gave our class a brief run down and it seems an exciting place to be involved in. They seem to be nice guys also. Why did the station have an ego last year? I am just a fresher!!!

From just listening to the run down of the various shows the station seems to have a rather good mix of various genres of music, and the presenters all seem to know their stuff in terms of the type of music they are covering.

Will there be any shows that are more talk shows? The News guy ran through the various shows but they seem to be politically orientated more than just social issues, I wonder if they will have just chat show type programmes.

I am looking forward to the meeting they have organised tomorrow.

Haha, I've noticed that too!!! A few songs while passing that I continue to here - maybe one of the presenters just loves that, or maybe its a pre-recorded show that they are playing over - they don't have their presenters assigned yet.

I joined up at their meeting last night. Quick enough process - they split the room into two and just got it out of the way.

Looking forward to getting stuck in. The fact that it broadcasts via the speakers on campus gives the place a great buzz!!!

Seems easy enough to get involved - what are people hoping to take up - is everyone looking to just present???

No, you can join on Clubs and Socs day. The stand will be outside DCUfm

I can just about handle music being played through the speakers for about a week.

What really pisses me off is when you are forced to listen to someone talking or giving the news. I don't want to be walking around campus, going somewhere or whatever, and hear some piece of news about some GAA player.

It's a radio station, not a blast music from speakers around campus station.

To be granted a licence the station must broadcast a certain amount of news each day..if the station wants to be taken seriously and students want the valuable experience of working in a professionally driven environment then this is the way it is....just tune out for the news if you don't like it..although some of us quite enjoy knowing what's going on in the world around us..no offence intended.

I will find out about the news in my own time.
Being forced to listen to DCUFM's 'news', it was about a GAA player, as i walk around campus is what I was complainging about.

There has been no news yet..speakers are just up at the moment to promote the station which I think is a great thing. So can we not enter into a debate on the damn speakers and just focus on the positive i.e. how much the station looks to have improved this year :)

I take back what I said after listening to some sort of movie review for Bruno..."oooohhh myyyyy gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd..." it was painful to listen to. Please take the speakers down. Please.

I heard someone discussing news, about a GAA player, on the speakers, last week...
