In a word stunning. A real tour de force, it's intense, brooding with more than a hint of psychotic. For me, one of the great acting performances of modern times. Opinions?

It's a quality performance in a quality movie - pretty much everything he does is worth watching (except the odd US part).

A Room for Romeo Brass - check it out if you haven't already.

Home sick so threw it on the dvd player and was just blown away once again. Chilling.

Brilliant performance, he really looks the part and fits the role too. Some of the scumbags were perfectly cast too. Great film, probably my favourite English film... deserves to be more well known.

Just agreement. I remember being engrossed. Must give it another watch.

What else has he done that's worth getting out? That one about moving to America looked a bit cringe-inducing.

Definitely agree, one of my favourite films and favourite performances.

He has a new one coming out with Shane Meadows again called 'Le Donk' out on DVD 26th Oct

Red Riding is well worth a watch, it’s not his most daring role – he’s pretty much just playing a by-the-book copper, but I’ve read the book and he nailed the character for sure.
Can I also just agree about Dead Man’s Shoes, brilliant performance, best I’ve seen in years. He’s like a subtle mixture of Travis Bickle and Roy Keane in it at times

And speaking of Travis, one other little titbit about Paddy, did anyone watch the extra’s on the Hot Fuzz dvd, there’s a outtake of a scene where Simon Pegg walks into a room and Paddy pulls his “DeNiro face”, complete with Taxi Driver sunglasses, it’s hilarious.
