Comedian Neil Delamere has escaped serious injury when his flash sports car was involved in a car crash. The Offaly funnyman, who is best known for his appearances on The Panel and Neil Delamere's Just for Laughs, was driving through the tiny village of Moneygall, Co Offaly, when his Audi TT collided with a jeep on the main street.

    Bang

Shocked locals witnessed Delamere (right) stepping out of his sports car afterwards, and they say he was visibly shocked and shaken after the crash which sent a loud bang through the village.
The comedian from Edenderry, Co Offaly, was passing through Moneygall around 5pm when the crash happened two weeks ago, and luckily he emerged unscathed from the collision.
The front of his pricey car was badly damaged, according to locals, who say he was lucky the crash wasn't more serious.
"Obviously there was nobody hurt which is the main thing," one local told the Herald. "He was driving through the village and he crashed with a jeep. It happened outside Buckley's garage on the main street."
Another local added: "I came across it in the village. I heard a loud bang and I went out and saw it, and I saw the crowd standing around as well."

    Roadworthy

Mr Delamere was left stranded in the Offaly village after the crash since his car was not roadworthy, locals told the Herald, and the popular comedian was forced to wait for a friend to pick him up.
"It was quite damaged, and someone came and picked him up afterwards. He didn't stay around long." However, the happy-go-lucky comedian found some time to chat to village residents who saw the crash.

How did it take two weeks for this to become newsworthy, not that I personally consider it to be.
